Steady development of digital printing
"Although the overall proportion of digital printing is not high at present, it has occupied a place in the traditional mainstream printing process," Zhang Jianmin, secretary-general of Digital and Network Printing Branch of China Printing and Equipment Industry Association, said at the meeting.

Relevant data show that the proportion of book printing, packaging printing and commercial printing is 33%, 24% and 43% respectively. The proportion of digital printing in the three printing enterprises is different. Among them, the proportion of business printing is the highest, the demand is urgent, and there are many short editions and patterns. Commercial printing accounted for 16%, book printing accounted for 7%, and packaging printing accounted for 3%. Generally speaking, digital printing accounts for about 10% of the total output value of the printing industry. Zhang Jianmin believes that it is not easy for digital printing to achieve today's status, because offset printing plays a very important role in printing producers and users. Many technologies, including digital printing, are based on offset printing.

As a processing means, the development process of digital printing must meet customers' requirements for printing quality, speed, range, cost and printing. Zhang Jianmin believes that due to the technological progress over the years, Kodak, HP, Gaobao and other manufacturers have been working hard, and digital printing has broken through these barriers. According to the exhibition area of American Print13, which ended on September 12, the top ten except Komori had no offset printing equipment. This shows that in the American market, people are very concerned about digital printing machines.

"In recent years, the focus of many printing exhibitions is the B2 and B3 digital printing presses. In recent years, Kodak, Fuji and other manufacturers have launched B2 screen format digital printing presses. From the perspective of the future situation, the range of digital printing opportunities will further improve, and the printing speed will continue to improve." Zhang Jianmin said.

Although new equipment has sprung up like mushrooms, Zhang Jianmin stressed that under the current situation, the printing industry in the past was no longer suitable for increasing product development efforts. In the future, the printing industry, including digital printing enterprises, needs to increase investment in fixed assets and pay more attention to efficiency. "In the future development, the success or failure of an enterprise lies not in its scale, but in its efficiency," said Zhang Jianmin.

New technologies need new business models

Compared with traditional printing enterprises, CPI has increased order management services, e-book data conversion services, warehousing and distribution services, and expanded its business scope.
